Privacy
This service uses local browser storage for the simulation and separate account services for sign-in, purchases and memorials. The sections below explain what is sent when you choose those features.
Sign-in
Google or email sign-in is handled by Clerk. We receive an account identifier and verified email needed to manage your account and purchases; we do not receive or store your password. Google processes information when you choose Google sign-in.
Simulation and device storage
Life progress, notes and settings stay in this browser unless you choose a transfer or turn on cloud backup. Clearing the browser’s site data can remove local progress. Cloud backups can be turned off from account features.
Purchases
Stripe handles checkout and payment-card information. Our service stores the account identifier, order status, amount, currency and entitlement needed to issue and support the pass; card details are not stored by this site. Purchases are one-time and do not renew automatically.
Public memorials and sharing
When you publish a memorial or a life story, the selected content is stored on our service and can be viewed publicly. Visitors may leave the available reactions. Do not include real names, contact details or information that identifies another person. You can manage or remove memorials from your account.
Analytics
Microsoft Clarity provides limited, cookieless interaction analytics on public pages. Analytics and ad storage are denied, and browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are honored. Clarity is not included on account or checkout pages; tracking stops when gameplay starts. Without consent, full session recordings and cross-page journey features are unavailable. If you buy the optional AI Life Story Album and agree, the selected simulation summary and pixel portrait are sent to the AI provider; your notes are included only if you choose that option. The provider creates one report and a fictional portrait. We keep the report and portrait available with the purchase so you can reopen them. The portrait is not an actual photograph or identity verification.
Retention and requests
Local data remains until you remove it or clear browser storage. Cloud copies and public memorials remain while enabled or published and can be removed through the available controls. Order records are retained as needed to provide the purchase and meet payment or legal obligations. Use the site feedback form for a privacy or account request.
iOS app data
Life simulations, settings and completed life records stay on your device and are not uploaded by the app. If you submit a public tribute, the app sends the name, age, country, summary and story you provide; the tribute is stored on our service and shown in the public memorial feed. Reactions send a randomly generated app-install identifier and the reaction so the feature can work and duplicate reactions can be prevented. This identifier is not tied to an account or Apple advertising ID. We also keep a short-lived keyed hash of the network address for rate limiting and abuse prevention. These data are not used for cross-app advertising or tracking. Optional Keepsake Pass purchases and restores use Apple in-app purchase and RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes anonymous purchase and entitlement information and an anonymous app user ID for purchase functionality and aggregated analytics. Apple handles payment details; the app does not receive card information. The iOS app does not use sign-in accounts, third-party ads, IDFA or Microsoft Clarity. Public tributes and reactions are retained while needed for the memorial feature and abuse prevention. For a privacy question or removal request, contact [email protected].
